I posted in Marks weather topic and got a few responses which got me thinking....
I’m five months in to fatherhood and had basically written off skiing for at least three to four years. I was thinking of just heading the chill factor once a month to scratch that itch.
I was just wondering what others have done? Have you gone skiing and trusted the baby sitting or have you asked a family member to come over with you? Or have you been sensible and left it alone?

I was thinking of paying for my mum to come and look after the little one whilst I and the wife hit the slopes? Is that too selfish?
I was thinking ski in the morning, few hours lunch with the family, ski in the afternoon and then the evening together.

re: Baby and Skiing?
It works, plus the added bonus of baby sitting in the evening for a well earned night out.
What Mum does not like to spend time with there grand children.
Think of it that way and you are doing them a favor!!
We know a few people who have gone skiing with little ones - Garrick (who is a poster on here) bought his little boy last year and he was only a few months old...
I'm sure your mum will love it and she can sit in our children's room with the little one and lots of cuddly toys!!
We took our little one from six months and she is now three. We used local crèche in the am whilst we skied and then spend time with he pm. W also used the crèche to organise baby sitting for us. Works well for us.
Are you sure that 'Granny' doesn't want to ski?-in this family it is granny nagging everyone to get ready for skiing and daughter the reluctant one-joking apart I have seen many a grandmother baby sitting in a ski resort-seems to work well if Granny is up for looking after babies!
Hi TopCat
I've done the lot - skied before kids. Left baby at home and went skiing. Took baby and put baby into creche, took baby and grandparents.
When we left our kids in creche's in ski resorts we generally had good experiences (apart from one in les deux Alpes ) and always felt happier particularly when we had other kids in there too who could keep half an eye on baby and let us know if the nannies were horrid.

Our toddler loved the creche in Pamporovo and we got her some private one to one tuition on a couple of days for an hour when she was 4ish.
When our youngest was 2, we brought grandparents along. This was in Val D'isere and they were able to bring baby up the mountain and meet us for lunch on 4 different days in 4 different locations. In a small resort like Pamporovo this would also be quite easy to do as they could walk up to ski centre 1 and bring the baby up on the chair lift and meet you for lunch there.
We have quite a few non skiing grannies in the Snezhanka apartments this coming season.
Just don't ski with baby in a back pack - have heard of babies dying from the cold!
Somewhere like the Ice Angels would be good although it may be expensive as it is well situated and right on the slopes at the bottom. I would pick somewhere in town as it would be better for them and you to meet up.
