Can anyone confirm the situation with Crystal Ski regarding baggage allowance. We have paid the extra for ski carriage for 3 of us and now the tickets have arrived they say that ski boots have to be part of your 20kg main allowance. Always gone with Balkan in the past and their ski carriage paid for skis and boots without affecting your main hold/hand luggage allowance.

Only gone with Crystal as Balkan weren't offering the Prespa this year and with the worries about lack of snow this is not helping my sense of humour. Heading to Pamps on the 24th, 12 of us in total.
I always used to take my boots as hand luggage and last year there were lots of people on the board reporting that they were being stopped from taking them on so were either having to squeeze them in their case or pay carriage on the day ( very expensive). I put mine in my case last year as a result but didn't see anyone with boots as hand luggage like I had on previous years. Thanks for the info, think this a bit of a rip-off when all other operators i have used have allowed boots and skiis with ski carriage. Balkan only charged £17 and took both but Crystal (Thomsons) charge £30 for just skis. Just weighed my boots at over 6kg so by the time i add that to an empty case weight of 4.5kg it doesn't leave a lot left. Looks like boots will be going in boot bag as usual and prepare for battle at check-in.
yeah wear boots then change once gone through good idea thats what my husband says he will do if he has a problem. we havn't booked his snow board in as extra either so hoping there won't be a problem with that either. So yes we are looking forward to that battle at check in. going to pamps on saturday flying with thompson
They will def charge you for the board .....no way they'll miss that one. Not sure you wold get away with wearing them either as the reason they stopped them going in hand luggage last year is as they claimed they could be used as a weapon and so were only allowed in the hold.....barmy I know but thats what the world is coming to these days.
Maybe you had baggage allowance left but if you have used your allowance with your case then they may charge carriage but they still went in the hold rather than in the cabin. That seemed to be a big no no last year.
