AdiI agree, flight was good if basic the transfer time to Bansko was long but scenic (eventually!). Bansko is a sound place to ski if not complete beginners
Our visit last year to Bansko left us mouth watering for more Bulgarian hospitality

I've skied and snowboarded in many different resorts through Europe and Canada over the years.
I've only been tempted back to two resorts. One's Pamps and the other's Jasper in Canada. My tour operator of choice for Bulgaria is Balkan holidays. (FYI for Canada it's Inghams).
The prices have always been competive and the ski packages and supplements are far easier to work out than in some of the other tour operator brochures. As it's me that books for a small group all doing different ...

The second time we traveled to Bulgaria was to Borovets. That's the only time I've ever complained about the food. The quality was fine. But the main course came on a side plate. Not filling after a hard day on the slopes. A few choice words to the reps and it did get sorted out.
That wasn't the reason I didn't return to Borovets though. The queues for the gondola and the hike at the top put me off. At least in Pamps the queues not as long for the main lift in the morning.
Anyway, heading out there to Pamps a week on Sunday...new board all primed and ready to use.....bring on the snow!

Not so far.
This year my boyfriend is joining us for his first taste of Snowboarding. He's not entirely signed up to the idea of the cold etc etc , so I wanted to make sure we were in a resort where I knew the standard of teaching was good (as oppose to Italy), the slopes not over crowded (as oppose to Andorra)and the transfer times too long (Kimberley in Canada) .
At least I know the holiday itself will be good even if he doesn't take to the Snowboarding.
