Bansko Airport and Dobrinishte Ski Area

Hey guys - word on the street for a little while that Bansko is getting an Airport - anyone know much more about this?

Also - Dobrinishte getting its own ski area... Part of the Bansko Municipality, but how close is it to main Bansko? Anyone know if the two resorts will be 'piste -linked' or cable carred together??

While we were in Bansko our agent told us that the "Bansko airport" would be domestic only i.e. you'd have to transfer at Sofia - no good for us then if that really is the case

Don't believe anything the Real Estate Agents have told you.

An airport for Bansko is only an idea, no plans, no funding are in place. It will be many many years before that is a reality.

Dobrinishte does have it's own ski area at present, and the developers have been given a 1st class development certificate to increase the size and put in a gondola and lifts. It should be noted that the developers of Dobrinishte are completely different from those who invested in Bansko, so it's ...

If an airport ever does develop ???, by the time you arrive in Sofia and connect up with your next flight, board, fly, land, luggage etc etc , you would have already arrived by vehicle transfer and sucked half a dozen beers in your hotel by the time the flight arrived Wink Booze

All this talk about an airport is just rubbish to make even more daft Brits buy apartments in Bansko. Believe it if you will...

Lets face it John, there are plenty of daft Brits already buying apartments in Bulgaria, my mate sells them and as he says, they aren't a good investment, if you ever want to sell them... they are told to say all these things about new airports, ski runs etc, I can't believe so many people fall for it!!!!

re: Bansko Airport and Dobrinishte Ski Area

If I remember rightly all the talk of a Bansko airport came
about due to the bid for th 2014 winter olympics, as that failed I can less urgency for the airport now or at least an International airport.
