Hi, we're coming to Bansko on 4th April for a weeks late season skiing, or so I thought, but I'm hearing rumours that all the lifts are closing on the 3rd April Can anyone confirm this?
If it is all closed are there any alternative ways of getting up the mountain to do some skiing or anywhere else we can go? We've got flights, transfers and accommodation booked and paid for, can't get a refund on any of it if we cancel, and are potentially just going to sit in resort for a ...

Ho Chris
Borovets will remain open
We can give you a deal with the daily return transfers to Borovets within the discount ski packs
Pls sent me PM for more details
Stefan
Sorry to hear this Chris - but it was a huge gamble you took to book so late in the season. I agree with Bulgarian Pete - financially I thing you would be better to book new accomodation in Borovets. 2 hours travelling every day won't be much fun and the cost will be something like
By car (1-3 persons), one way: 100 € EUR
By car (1-3 persons), return trip: 190 € EUR
Yeah I knew it was a snow gamble, but didn't think for a minute that the resort lifts would close down earlier than advertised! We've had our main ski trip this year (in Chatel) and this seemed like a good opportunity to get a late break in with the kids (who didn't come to Chatel with us) at a very good price.
How many of you are in the party?? If you click on my name I can put you in touch with Stefan via email. also may be able to offer accommodation via other friends. Transfers depending on who you are booked with you may be able to change to Borovets so not lose out on that and also perhaps get refund of the difference. Luckily you haven't paid for ski packs and again you can get them via Stefan at Hunters. Must tell you though that Borovets has not got a good deal of skiing available but it ...

I have emailed you with all the info you need, current resort / hotel prices, ski pack prices etc. I agree with BP / PP - daily transfers will be a nightmare espcially with children but have given you rough prices anyway.
Dont do daily transfers, just book a hotel or accommodation there. what you will spend in daily transfers you could get accommodation there for and possibly cheaper. Just change resort, inform transfer company of change they will help im sure!!
Thanks everyone, luckily I haven't actually paid for the accommodation in Bansko yet so transferring to Borovets would at worst see us just loosing the cost of the transfers.
I'm waiting for a definitive answer on whether Bansko lifts are closing on the 3rd April, which I'll hopefully get tomorrow, and if they are I'll switch to Borovets
Replied to your mail Kas, thanks for your help.
