If it's the one I'm thinking of it's about 10-15 min walk from the gondola (Glazne St?) but the Hotel will no doubt have a shuttle service running. Happy end by the gondola has a good atmosphere but is at the pricey end of the market compared to most. The Lion is another good one 5 mins from the gondola. There is a load of info on this board about restaurants - really depends what you are looking for - ie: international or local Bulgarian..... Try having a search while you wait for others to recommend.
Sure you'll love it - it's a great place and hopefully more of the mountain will be open by the time you go... Good Luck.

I stayed at the Bansko last year. It is at least a km from the gondola, but runs a shuttle bus regularly, unless you fancy the trudge up the hill every morning or a taxi
I ate in the hotel only once as the food is pretty dire. It is reasonable enough to eat out every night which is what we did.
The rooms are great. The one we had was bigger than the first flat I bought!!
The hotel is okay apart from food and distance to the gondola, which can have a horrendous queue if you arrive at the wrong time. The queue last year was almost 2 hours, but it was the Russian holiday, so next week should be quieter.
This year I am staying at the Strazhite because it is a lot closer to the lift.
