Hi Guys,

Dimitar from Bansko Sport has come back and offered a great price of 560lv for the 12 days hires (2Ad & 3 Kids - see OP) both are really close to the gondola (and close to my apartment) so I guess my question to those of you that have used either Banskosport or TSAKIRIS is which one should I go for?

Thanks for yor help

re: Bansko equipment rental advice

So just wanted to finish this thread off as we have now arrived and have hired the ski equipment we needed. On booking in to our apartment in predela the receptionist told us to try a ski company 100m up from the Kemplinsky hotel, I told her I already had v.good prices (550lv for 5 Adults and 3 Kids for 12 days) from the people mentioned above.

"No problem" she said "but many people find them the cheapest". ok I thought as they were only 100m away from the apartment I'd go and have a ...

"No problem" she said "but many people find them the cheapest". ok I thought as they were only 100m away from the apartment I'd go and have a look.

Indi ski hire and their standard prices are :-

Adult 6 Days 110lv
Child 6 Days 69lv

But they were offering me 30% off these prices

Adult 6 Days 77lv
Child 6 Days 48lv

Total would of been 576lv.

The guy in there seemed really helpful so I told him I actually only wanted 10 days in 12 as I didnt want to ski with the crazies on the weekend (and I will be hung over if i get to see the Wales/England rugby game on friday - followed by the Swansea/Cardiff game on the Sunday).

"No problem" he said, "how about 440lv" for the 10 days in 12 rental. "me and the wife have our own boots" I said.....Hey if you dont ask you dont get!.

"No problem" tap tap on the calculator "Lets make it 390lv". without me commiting i asked to see the ski equipment, to make sure it was as good a deal as it seemed. Lets say they are better than the skis I no longer cart about, I reckon maybe a season or 2 old but all in quite good condition. Kids boots were great and seemed really new.

"Ok ok I'll make a little extra discount for you".......

At this point I actually had to stop him!! before I felt as though I had taken advantage of him! "No No your price is fine, your skis are fine, I'll be back in the morning"

So 5 sets of skis/poles, 3 sets of boots later we leave, I said "I'll be back on friday to hand back the ski equipment for the weekend".

He said "Oh dont worry about it, just keep them for the 12 days!!" its no problem.

So the company is Indi Ski hire and Adventure (they do tours from the same place). If your looking for stuff then maybe its worth given them a try.
