Just had a quick look at the webcams for Bansko and the trees are heavy from recent snowfall. Looks good and should give everyone flying out this weekend a lot of confidence of getting really good snow conditions.Happy skiing (and apre ski)everyone!

Saying that, the avalanche danger for anyone wanting to venture off-piste and off the peak will be considerable. Be careful out there today!

It looks fab there eh Hornster - can't believe I have to wait until March - doh - but maybe there will be even MORE snow by then (usually been lucky)

Rescuers are currently searching for a young man who was buried under an avalanche that struck Wednesday morning outside the ski area boundary in the Bulgarian ski resort of Bansko.
Two skiers, a man and a woman, were going down a steep slope in the Banderishka Poliana area, when the avalanche struck. The girl managed to stay out of the avalanche`s way but her friend was buried under the snow, rescuers said, adding that three more people may have also been hit by the avalanche.
Mountaineers say that the recent snowfalls in the Bulgarian mountains have created avalanche hazardous conditions and advise skiers and snowboarders to keep to the marked ski runs.
