Put Jess with the babysitter and me and muffy went up skiing yesterday Reasonably quiet, did a couple runs of blue 6 and 5, and then to the top lifts on Todorka... Its skiing as good as it gets, fresh snow on a good base of about a metre. A bit closed in on the top but improves as you come down. Cover had become a little patchy with a combination of icey patches and cannon snow down near Shilligarnika and on down to the gondola... All the lower runs including ski road still closed but cannons running flat out, and it snowed all day, so fingers crossed it should not be long.. All in all a great afternoon topped off with a visit to `Bondi' for a beer and a plate of `serini banni', just the two of us it was like being on holiday..
I had a transfer in the evening and got back into Bansko around 00.30.. fancied a pint before going home but most places closed that i would normally visit, soooooo, ended up in the `Friendly Bar' accepting that i would be paying 6lv for the beer, as i had been told ??? I was greeted by Evo, the general manager of there and the `Lion Pub', and gamely sat at the bar and ordered a beer .... 2.49lv for a fine draft and the possibility of 20% off that with loyalty card Now i will speak as i find but that is not bad, and the new menu looks really good as well, the most expensive steak (400gm beef !!) with all the trimmings, 24.50lv with again the chance of 20% discount
Muffy and i will be heading up in the next couple of days to sample the steaks
It looks like they are trying, so we will support what they are trying to do... also `Snow Dogs' (great duo !!) start on Saturday, another reason to visit
