I just got back from Borovets 15th March after a weeks skiing (where runs were open/ok).
We really liked it and for the price there is no major rival.
We want to go again next year at a better time of year for snow(if this exists). However as I have never been to Bansko I wondered whether this is worth going to instead of Boro. What are the Pros and Cons and where do you feel is best?
Best regards,

sorry just to clarify was the queue a pain in boro or Bansko? One of my concerns with Bansko is the fact that all skiing is accessed via the Gondola and that this could be closed in high winds, is this an issue?
it was open all the time when we where there in feb but the que in the morning is just stupidly long, we were at the lift for 08-15 in the morning and the que was aleady starting to bulid, and it was about 9-30 before we got up the top, dont want to put you off because the sking is first class when you are up there, but be prepared for a bit of que ing!!
anything else i can help with please ask
Just returned from Bansko, what queue? perfect conditions for all but first timers, even they got good conditions half way through the week 15 - 22 march, never saw a queue, straight onto Gondola which was open every day. We were up early to get the best snow and first tracks off piste but really didn't see a queue from 8.10 to 8.45 am.
depends which week you went, we qued no more than 5 mins and was at the gondla as it opened at 8.30, usually at the top by 9ish, if you are worried about gondla being closed from the posts on here I would say boro is worse. I have'nt been to boro so cant coment further.
Bansko by a mile. Pro's- Best skiing area. Most reliable weather.Developing and improving year on year (New runs etc). Prices not rising at nearly the same rate as borovets. Well protected from the wind so gondola almost never shut. Cons- A lot of building work at mo.
If going to Bansko make sure and avoid half term and New Year-if you want to miss the queuing at the gondola that is.
Skiing definitely better than Boro but the nightlife is more spread out so won't be as lively.
Still some great live music and good craic to be had if you know where to look, as well as skating and bowling for non drinkers/familys.
