Does anybody have an update information about the street conditions? Pictures would be really nice about the jumps and rails. The piste map shows that there is an pipe but last year there were none. How about this year? How are the offpiste conditions? Is there actually 1 meter snow or is it just hoaks what they say on their information page?
Ok thanks for the info. I think my board can manage a couple of scratces for the fun. What do you think do they open the funpark before 19.2 when we arrive?
Really sad to hear this because last year they hosted a Burton amateur contest and then the funpark was in excellent condition. Now when they are hosting this 2 day FIS competition they "dont have time to do anything else". They should also think for the future and just build then just a couple of jumps which would be easy to take care of than not making them at all. Now numerous boarders and skiers who would like to practise some jumps will be really dissapointed for the lack of jumps, ...

Sorry my spelling can be really horrible but I think you all get the point.
I found an site where they say that there should be an official competitions on 26-27.3.2009 on Big Air and Snowboardcross so isuppose they make the jumps but do they make it on time for my trip is another thing. Below is a link to the official pages.
It is a great shame that Bansko does not consider itself to be a good snowboard resort, as Matti says the park was really good last late season, as a snowboard friendly resort if they worked on their park and built the promised half pipe it would attract a huge amount of interest. If Bulgaria is loosing the people looking for a reasonably cheap ski holiday then it could compensate with the snowboard facilities and gain a new reputation.
