The Rila hotel is easily the best - right on the slopes and 4* (Although thats questionable) all rooms have slope facing balcony.

The Samokov is the other good one but i dont think its as good as the Rila

Have stayed in the Samokov a few times and yes its probably one of the best for Borovets. We pick the Samokov as its nearest the Gondola station that takes you to the very highest ski area. Other good ones near the slopes are Rila and Ice Angels.

The newest and closest to slopes is the Ice Angels. Have never stayed there myself as not many tour operators seem to use it. Heard good reviews.

I stay in the Rila mainly for location, convenience and it's the kids favourite. It's right at the bottom of the main lower slope. Very Happy

The Bor is only a small hotel not with the facilities of the larger hotelsa but the food was lovely and you get to know your fellow guests. Stayed in the Ela last week and though much nearer slopes - had a pool table, but was unfreindly (guests and staff!) and food was pretty bland. If you walk up to the villiage in the evenings from the Bor, kids can always find something to do - otherwise take some games for nights you want to stay in!!

Stayed in the Ela as well last week and had no probs . Have previously stayed at the Rila which is also good but the money we saved between choosing the Ela gave us much more to spend which I dont think is reflected in the difference between the two hotels
