I loved skiing in Borovets many years ago. It was great fun and cheap. I was single then and went with a friend. But now, much older and married with 3 children and I'm thinking of taking the family there next year. We don't have a huge amount of money so Bulgaria is best.
Can you tell me when you think would be the best time to go?
Hope Jim's right were out to Borovets first week in March, but we have been to Bulgaria for the last 6 years first week in March and always had decent snow. See you in Bobbys Jim !!!
It's the 8th March for us , but will it snow????, dint ski last year , skint , so need it this year big time, I love boro, but thinging of transferring to Bansco, but we don't won't to go there , we love boro.
Late February early March as the others have said appear to be the best times generally. If I were you book your dates and then commit at the last minute dependant on conditions at the time.
Sign up to ski France they had some amazing deals that rivalled the prices of Bulgaria. Again no need to book in advance.
"The best time to go to Borovets?" - after Borosport wake up to the fact that Bulgaria's snow record (last year excepted) is poor!
They have a very short decent ski / board season (this year excepted - which is non existent) and need to invest, to have at least some sort of contingency plan when there is no snow.
Until this happens, I would say save yourself anxiety and disappointment and go to France or Austria.
You will have the choice of late December to March as a season, rather than ...

Totally agree Carnage!! I first went to Borovets Xmas 2012 as a beginner (snow was ok!) then went back in March (snow was better, at least the top was open!) went again for Xmas last year - oh boy I feel I know the Yastra with my eyes shut!!! We foolishly booked a reunion visits with a group of people we have met through each holiday we've done - We all flight out next Sat (would prefer to cancel but too late!) I can honestly say I have never dreaded a holiday less than this one coming ...

I for one will never book Borovets again in a dance and will always book last minute now!
Think next year I will leave it till next min. Probs book a Couple of weeks off work, and decide much nearer the time. Crystal ski (or book independently) there will always be deals to be had
