Board/Ski Carrige Help?

Flying from Birmingham to Sofia on saturday to Bansko and taking two boards in a double bag, however we have only paid for ONE ski carrige through inghams and after asking to add another one they refused.
Does anyone know what they are like for ski carrige being overweight?? I rang thompsons at BIA and they just said we could pay for another ski carrige £80 there.. but would be handy if we could get away with it?

Thanks Dee Very Happy

re: Board/Ski Carrige Help?

you should be fine i have just returned from bansko flew with Thomsons and I had three pairs of skis and one boot in one bag.
The skis were all adult skis as well. I paid thirty pounds for carriage. Dont worry about Bulgaria they dont even check the weight

re: Board/Ski Carrige Help?

my board bag weighed 28kg going out heavier coming back. It wasn't a problem however my total weight was under our allowed limit.

re: Board/Ski Carrige Help?

Have always packed a load of gear in with my skis and have never had them weighed even when I have been uo to my limit on my bags.

re: Board/Ski Carrige Help?

avalanche! Thank you! put my mind at rest, can be doing without the £80 charge but don't really want to take an empty bag if we have to pay it!

Thanks all!
