A mate of mine flying with easyjet out of Gatwick was charged £50 for being over weight (not him his bags.) the limit was 32kg for both luggage and board bag combined. It does differ from airline to airline so expect problems if your over your limit. But imsure that wont spoil your trip. have a good one. out on 22nd so leave us some snow to play with.
just back from pamps - beware - we got done by easy jet on the way out to the tune of £100. cases were fine but charged for our board bags as we normally put all our kit in there and i had two boards.
never got done by them before when flying to france or austria - just depends on which jobsworth you get on the day and what mood the company are in. we were not the only ones - there were at leat 20 people paying extra for being over the 12k ski/board allowance.

apparently it is in the small print - but we will be writing to complain as they were raking it in!
One thing you could do, watch other people checking in. Are the skis/or boards taken on the conveyor belt at check in, or do they attach a flight sticker, hand em back to customer and the customer takes the ski/boards to a seperate area where they are handed to a member of the airport staff. If this is the case, check in 1 board, your mate hangs back with the other board (out of sight). Before you consign the board bag to the plane, you slip in the other board
