Boardbag advice please

Hi

Thanks to Do It Man my son now has a shiny new board for our upcoming hol in pamps and me being ultra organised I've booked carriage for it on flight but have just realised I need something to carry it in and ebay has a multitude of various bags with wheels and padded and different sizes which is confusing my single brain cell.

His board is 130cm long I think and I'd ideally like to stick his skis and both sets of boots in too and my ski boots if they fit or is this way too much meaning stuff will get damaged???

Thanks in advance

re: Boardbag advice please

Hi Dona,
Don't forget that on most airlines, even if you pay for ski or board carriage, there is a limit of 23Kg. for any one piece of baggage. If you put in as much as you intend, you could well be over the limit.

re: Boardbag advice please

my luggage limit is 32kg for one piece of luggage so will take one big case between us and have booked ski carriage on top. I am flying Wizz and a few people have said no probs with weight on ski equipment so hoping I'll be fine. But thx for the heads up Very Happy Very Happy

re: Boardbag advice please

Hi Dona,
Angie and I always carry our skis, poles and boots in our boardbags plus most of our ski gear. We did this again 2 weeks ago with Thomsons when we went to France with no problem at all and will be doing the same in 2 weeks time when we go back to Bulgaria.

Pete x
Cool

re: Boardbag advice please

Hey Dona

Buy a bigger bag for a bigger board - then put all your gear into it including all your bulky clothing etc (Assuming you have a decent weight limit)

Two reasons - Easier carrige and he's only gunna get bigger thus he'll get a bigger board!!!

We transfer all our gear in one bag, 2x sets of Boots, 2x Boards, 4x sets of Boarding Pants, socks, fleeces etc etc

Never ever had a problem!!!

Dunno if there is a weight limit on the ski carriage bit but everyone who has posted about Wizz say they don't weigh ski carriage stuff so am thinking I'll be ok ........ have 32kg for suitcase so can put ski clothes in there although did think by putting them in with board would protect ...

re: Boardbag advice please

Yep, padded. Although in saying that I padded my board in my old canvas bag with clothing.

Only just bought a new bag today, a roller for around £50 which seems to be the going rate for a middle of the road one. DAKINE high and low rollers come in around £75, but can be slightly cheaper on ebay.

Or you can have my old canvas one for a tenner!
