Borovets 12th Jan - UPDATE

Morning,
Again, Rila runs identical to yesterday and no new snow. Gondola is open again - for walkers only.
4 man chair is open (shuttle buses still running). Yastrebets 2 and 3 are in better condition than yesterday and snow cannons are still running...although the ones on the Rila aren't. The 2 drags on the Rila slope are still open and it is definitely still colder..
Sitnyakovo Express is closed today, even for walkers.
The fact that it is remaining colder is positive news.. ...

No, Rila cannons are not working. In terms of snowing the locals have not had a season like this in over 20years so everyone has given up predicting anything!re: Borovets 12th Jan - UPDATE

Update - quite misty on Yastrebets and the snow cannons are only working on the lower part BUT....IT IS SNOWING at the top of the mountain and on Yastrebets - nothing yet in the resort itself. Not that heavy, but hey, it's a start! Will keep you posted if the snow carries on.re: Borovets 12th Jan - UPDATE

Kassorry to be a pest. Are the snow canons at Rila operable but not on for some other reason ?
Looks nice n cloudy on the webcam. It's Baltic on East Coast of Scotland by the way.
