re: Borovets 12th Jan - UPDATE

There's not enough snow there - everything that initially came down was blown away. No idea where you got 50cm but that's not true....The pistebashers haven't been up there, so any new snow just blows away. If you have read '50' this may be where the snow is off-piste / hidden from the wind etc but that is it. If the snow carries on today and the next few days they may open but that is just 'guesswork'. Nursery and Marky 1 are just grass....other-half took some people up there yesterday ...

Thanks Kas. I find information about snow depth on this sites:

re: Borovets 12th Jan - UPDATE

I have no idea where they get details from but I'm sure there's loads of others on here who can add to this and will say the same. Resort is really quiet, snow is very poor but luckily people generally are still in good spirits but it is tough. I wish I could agree with the above websites and tell you all something different but it's not true! But...it has snowed all day and hopefully will continue..
Hope you have a great holiday with or without snow!

Kas

Thank you - Yes we will have a great holiday as long as Gatwick get themselves in gear...., can't wait, getting really excited, flying out Sat 16th. Hubby got me ski's for Xmas so i'm going to grass ski if there is no snow and I don't care how silly it looks.

Can't wait to see friends and have a good catch up with everyone.

re: Borovets 12th Jan - UPDATE

I am packed also but I go Friday morning first thing if Gatwick is operational!!
I am not worried about the snow now as will be happy to get there whatever the weather but my escape may be foiled by the gatwick team.
As long as there is a few runs open I am happy I know it will be busy but prepare for worst case and I will be over the moon if one of those worst cases does not happen.
Im dancing Alan! snow dance is easy when you put everything into it....
