Borovets Ski hire and lessons

Hi 3 of us are coming out on 23rd staying at Hotel Samokov. One of us is a great skiier, one is a complete beginner and I have boarded once and want lessons. Can anyone advise where is the best place to book lessons for the 2 of us and for ski/board hire for all of us. Want to try and get at least the lessons sorted before we get out there and maybe just sort hire out once were there.

Thankyou.

Hope the snow is good for when we get there x

Hello Laura

We are in the same boat as you. 3 of us coming out on the 30th. All beginners.

I have heard mixed reports about the qulaity of the equipment and have had prices ranging from 158euros to £230 for Ski Hire, Passes, Lessons.

A lad called Dan is going out on the 17th and is going to let me know what the qulaity of the gear from the 158 euro site is like.

Keep an eye out for his posting.

We use a guy called Jordan +359888548771 and he is very good at all levels of ability - at Christmas was teaching advanced skiers for one hour and then starters for another. Have used him for about 4 years. Good bloke and good English. I have nothing to gain from this - just think good instructor and very patient.

re: Borovets Ski hire and lessons

Can't remember sorry - we tended to have him for a day at a time and mix the lessons up with ability. Was great at finding the good snow and giving confidence to less confident people in trickier areas. Send him a text and he'll come back very quickly.

re: Borovets Ski hire and lessons

I saved this from last yearfrom someone post, he is a friend of ours: hope this helps
We are a family of 4,
We had a private instructor called George Vazharov.
He was great, spoke excellent english, was helpful, patient, (with me!! my kids age 14 & 7 were great at skiing) and he knew absolutely everyone.
He charged a very reasonable rate and stayed with us all day.
We arrived with and knowing nothing, just Georges phone number, and he helped us sort everything, ski hire, lift passes ...

He did advise that we should have pre booked our lift passes in the UK, we paid approx LV280 (£140) for one adult 6 day pass in resort. If we had booked pass when booking holiday at Thomas cook it would have been £78.
Never mind, we'll know next time.
The Rila was great, excellent location, food was absolutely fine ( I was bit worried after reading reviews) loads of choice and a microwave if you wanted it hotter.
It really was our best holiday ever - largely down to George, who even took us all to a traditional Bulgarian restaurant in a nearby village one evening. Which was lovely and we had a great time.
He really is a top guy and and excellent ski instructor, I can recommend him enough.
If you are looking for private tuition in Borovets - give him a ring ..
