Borovets and skiing for the first time

Hey all

Going to Borovets on the 24th of Jan and will be travelling on my own ( SAD, yes but if I don't give it a go now I never will know if I like it ). Stopping at the Iglika Palace and booked up the whole package deal thingy with lessons. Any advise and tips are very much appreciated. Any other lone travellers get in touch !!

Me, my brother and brother in law (Phil, Mick and Dave) are in the Iglika for a week from 23rd Jan so maybe we'll bump into each other. The Titanic is our usual bar of choice. 4th year in a row back to Boro and year 1 was my first go at skiing (wanted to give it a go before too old!). 2nd year I went by myself and had a good time. Borovets can be a bit rough round the edges but go looking for fun and there's lots to be had.

I stayed in the Iglika before and liked it, fairly basic but good location and food ok.

1st few days of ski lessons can be a bit slow but stick with it and mid week you should start all skiing together (rather than one at a time) which cuts down the waiting.

I don't think you need to spend too much on kit. somewhere like Go Outdoors etc is good value.

Good on you for giving it a go.

Hi Phil

Thanks for the advise and will be having a look at Go Outdoors as well.
I will certainly try and look for Phil, Mick and Dave at The Titanic bar, so if you see or hear a complete stranger asking around for you guys don't worry and give me a nudge Smile

Thanks again

Steve
