Borovets layout!?

So I hav'nt been to Borovets before and i've been looking at the map of the ski runs and was woundering how to get accross from the Rila to the other side of the mountain the bit beginning with Y? Is it a short walk or is it possible to ski/snowboard across to that main lift??

Cheers Tom Confused

The bit with Y is Yastrebets and it is not reachable by walk-well 20 min min.taxi to and from(horse sledge) or your car.ot the way down if snow good you will be able to ski to bottom of gondola if the snow thin again try but at the end go straight in the ski hire for skis repair.

Ok so it's a bit of a mission to get to from the Rila..
Any cheap transport options shuttle buses ?
Oh yeh does ya lift pass cover you for the lot? Both Rila and Yastrebets cuze Yastrebets looks like it has more run options.

re: Borovets layout!?

lift pass is only for lifts in BG.
get the gondola early to the top- ski to the middle and beyond to reach 4 seat chair only and use it all the way to top.If you want to shift to very top catch Gondola at middle station (remember to keep right and cut through the forest to reach the station but no problem if you miss the turning just ski down again to bottom of Quad chair.
if you prefer on top ski runs - use the drags there (weather permiting). only at the end of day slide down to ...

Borovets is essentially split in half, or possibly into three. One part is opposite the Rila, usually icy and packed with learners. I almost never ski there. you have to walk through the resort to the main gondola, which takes you to the top (obviously) and if you carry on down the other side you find a series of black and red runs served by button lifts. Come back down the mountain towards the resort and you have the Yastrebets express, a new lift serving three long runs. Its difficult ...

Come back down the mountain towards the resort and you have the Yastrebets express, a new lift serving three long runs. Its difficult to access from the bottom unless you have a car (taxi) or want to use one of the stinking horse carts. On this side of the mountain you can get back to the bottom of the gondola either by taking yastrebets 1 all the way, turning off half way for the mid station or by taking the ski road down from the bottom of the button lifts. if that makes sense. Anyway, essentially, you can't link the two halves by ski and explore the rest.

re: Borovets layout!?

tom as you are staying in rila you can either walk 50 yards in front o hotel and get on a 4 man chair .. this will give you a few runs at bottom... for top o mountain walk down past shops to godala ( sbout 200yards) go to top o mountain you then have 2 choices .. ski top or back to mid or bottom station Cool

re: Borovets layout!?

so does the lift pass cover you for all three ski centres (Borovets, Yastrebetz and Markudjik)?

if so, am i right in thinking that

1) the four-man lift in front of rila takes you to top of Borovets, where you can only ski back down to same point?

2) gondola takes you to top of Yastrebetz, where you can either ski back down or use another lift to take you to top of Markudjik, where you can then ski all the way down?

if (2) is incorrect, how do you get to top of Markudjik? can't ...
