Got back last night after first time in Borovets from the best skiing hol we've had in the 5 years since we started going.
You can keep Austria with its overpriced ,rip off,
arrogant everything and Italy with its superior attitude!!!
From the minute we arrived in the resort to the minute we got on the plane back the whole thing was brilliant.

From the minute we arrived in the resort to the minute we got on the plane back the whole thing was brilliant.
(All apart from the hotel food that is!!) but from reading the postings on here for the last few weeks we knew what to expect anyway and it was no great hardship or expense to eat out which we did.
We stayed at the Rila and the rest of our party at the Olymp, (think we got the better deal) but they found it fine.
The people in the resort were so friendly especially Maya at the Titanic, Franco at The Golden Horn and Megan at Funkys.
We bought some brilliant North Face gear from the sport shop at the back of the Rila at a fraction of the price over here.
Oh yes and the skiing was good too!!! we're a group of mixed ability skiiers most of us intermediate with 2 in ski school and a couple of advanced guys and we all found plenty to keep us on the slopes for 6 days which nevre happened in either Austria or Italy!!
A couple of guys who normally come with us have just gone off to Obergurgl as they "didn't fancy" Bulgaria, they're paying £800 (before lift passes, beer, food etc.) and i can guarantee thay wont have as good a time as we had!!!
Just booking again for next year!!!!!!!!(hopefully will have de-toxed enough by then)
Jules glad you had a great holiday, welcome to borovets addiction club. the worst thing about going to borovets is waking up in the morning and being back home
I know what you mean but we went without the kids this time as we wanted to check it out so wanted to get home when we did ahhhhhhhh!! However we're definately taking them with us next year
I'm with you there!!! I just know that tomorrow morning when i'm supposed to be working my head will be back on the slopes above the Rila hotel with the sun beaming down as it was last Monday morning!!!
Great Really excited now for next Saturday to go to Borovets, loved Bansko last year and I think Borovets will be even better. I know I shouldn't and I said to myself I wouldn't worry about the snow conditions but I am starting to worry with this big thaw in progress. Can any one help me and tell me that the runs should be open? More worried for the kids thats all as we wanted them to be able to have a go at skiing as it is their first time Thanks in anticipation!
I think the slopes your kids will be on will have been cannoned so they should still be able to ski okay, dont worry i'm sure you'll have a great time anyway
Thanks Jules I'm sure we will too and hey what can we do now about it, just go away and have a great time together as a family. I'm looking forward to trying all these nice restaurants that everyone has talked about over the past six months on here! Really pleased to have read your review so thanks you have cheered me up!
