Borovets.....lots of apres ski and good beginner/intermediate slopes for you. It's the highest Bulgarian resort too so you should still have good snow coditions at the top of the gondala.

ah ok great, ye someone else suggested that resort too. would you suggest booking online or going to a shop like thomson? is it poss to get deals with the equipment, ski pass and lessons all together or do you normally have to buy everything separatly?

If I was you I would try Inghams.....they usually have some good deals and it will be worth booking lessons equiptment etc at time of booking as it will be half the cost of what you would pay if you left it till you get out there.

Doesn't the Bulgarian resorts start to close for their ski season at this time.
If it does not everything will be open and there won't be many people about.
Best to check properly.

Richard.

re: Bulgaria skiing for 1st timers!

Balkan operate 1/2 weeks later than other tour companies. Not likely to be able to ski lower slopes in April but top of gondola usually skiable to end of April.

If you can't go earlier than those dates, you may be better looking at somewhere with glacial skiing eg Kaprun in Austria.

It works out cheaper to hire equipment and ski school etc with tour company when you book holiday. Very Happy
