Having been to Bansko for the last four years we have decided to give Italy a try,we have really enjoyed Bulgaria but time for a change.
As for value for money compare
Bansko £1540 for two B&B at 5* Grand Arena ,lift pass and ski carrage.
Bardonecchia Italy £1340 S.C. 4* Campo Smith ,lift pass
and ski carrage.
My opinion, you get what you pay for.
I hope to return to Bansko in the future maybe with an expande ski area? or as a second ski holiday.
Will probably keep an eye on this site ...

If anyone is looking for a cheaper option for the Grand Arena Kempinski, try Balkan holidays, they don't advertise it but its very cheap to upgrade to HB and a cheap holiday all in. We did Italy this Jan, great place and cheaper, better food on the mountain, expensive liftpass and rubbish hotel compared the Kempinski. You do get what you pay for
Hi marcus ,have stayed in the Samokov in Boro
for much less money,as I said it seems to be you get what you pay for, the Rila looked nice but the Grand Arena is truley 5* and even at that price I would recommend it if you fancy a bit of luxuary.
As for Italy if it does what it says on the tin we will be well pleased.
Hi Snik we were with Balkan Holidays and if I remeber right it was £17 per head per night to upgrade to HB so much better to wonder out and try a few mehanas and see a bit of the old town.
Skibhoy, we paid £8 per head in 2007 and it went up to £12 which seemed cheap to us as we did a few Mehanas the previous year we just wanted a relaxing holiday enjoying the hotel without looking for food every night.
