Bulgaria Ski discussion board

Many messages this season on suggested improvements - some of them very well articulated and substantiated. There seems to have been a regular penetration of the site by porn-brokers - and this is just one area that needs to be addressed.

I know that the common response is that you can search for whatever you like using the search button BUT THIS MISSES ONE FUNDAMENTAL point - you only search if YOU KNOW what you want...there are many times when info and tips are posted that are extremely useful that you would simply MISS OUT ON!!

As with all other messages of this type - within hours it will have gone from the front page....maybe I'll repost depending on the response.....but the basic question is:

"WHO THINKS THE BOARD WOULD BETTER SERVE BULGARIA VISITORS IF IT WAS UPDATED FOR EASE OF USE AND SECURITY?"

As far as I'm aware, you re the only person I can remember who wishes to labour this point - and quite why I have no idea.

However, I welcome the chance to once again put my point of view.

The owners of this board have long since backed away from any real involvement with it and have left me to monitor and administrate it on their behalf. The idea that was banded around earlier in the season was for answered posts to continually go to the top of the board as it was considered topical. Imagine the recent postings between Northern Boy and Glamourpuss that almost filled a complete page? How topical would that be to every other poster seeing it constantly at the top of the page for days on end. I know it is possible to condense headings into one catogory but then people miss out who is replying unless they open the entire thread.

Then there is the time and cost involved in changing it all again (as was done 3 years ago) and for what purpose?

Under the current format, and as I replied to you the last time you brought this up, the success of this board is down to it's ease of posting, and it's ease of reading and during the busy times it gets over 1,000 postings per day - and I know of no other ski discussion board that even comes close to that.

As for the security side, most posters get a warning if they misbehave and if they persist then I can ban their computer from ever posting again. The idiot (and I now know who he is) who was posting the porn had access to multi computers and was simply moving from one to another. He has now been identified via his IP and is currently under investigation by the Police.

We could change it - some would like it, some probably wouldn't but as far as I'm concerned I like it the way it is, and as I am the one who spends time every day monitoring it then I guess it stops there regardless of what response your appeal gets.

That's not meant to sound offish - but that's the way it's going to stay.
