CHAT ROOM/CHILDRENS CHAT ROOM

I'm beginning to agree with Tom, there is a danger of this 'Discussion Board' turning into, not just a chat room, but a kids one at that !

Don't get me wrong I've no objection to children using this board, I've got a 9 year old myself, but over the last few days I've noticed a large increase of children posting silly coments, ie '' I'm going to bed '' , '' I've just got up '' , '' I'm bored '' etc etc. In fact over 20 postings from one child alone.

The main purpose of this board is to discuss skiing and Bulgarian ski resorts and provide help and info and yes some fun. But over the last few days I've been ploughing through nonsence and chit chat.

I understand what you saying, but i also agree with Carla.

Sometimes it's fun to share your excitment with others who know what your talking about, esp if your a child. Ski topics are still being discussed and if someone doesn't want to read the posts such as "I'm going to bed" then they don't have to.

I know i'd hate for this to be a chat room, you'd have to read everything that goes on and trail through endless topics to find something of interest. At the moment i only have to read ...

Trev does have a legitimate point - if kids are allowed on then so should grumpy old men! - but I don't find it a problem to find/answer the stuff I'm interested in. The adult (and kid) chat has not become a problem for me at least yet, so I'm looking forward to regressing to my second childhood for a week at least next Saturday before its back to the daily grind. Carry on, it don't bother me at all.....

Carla

I suggest you read the message sent by 'Can't Sleep Won't Sleep' to Sophie who called her an 'Arse', maybe he is not aware of her age, but i would not like a daughter of mine called that.

Actually, it was "smart arse" which i wouldn't find offensive.

I agree with you to a point, but the problem with loads of nonsense postings is that it pushes possible posting of interest off the page. Resulting in either people not reading them or people re-posting again to seek a reply.

re: CHAT ROOM/CHILDRENS CHAT ROOM

Why complain about "ploughing through nonsence and chit chat" when you have chosen to do it? The messages you are complaining about are clearly identifiable and you don't have to read them if you don't want to! And "smart arse" is hardly the world most offensive reading. Did they interview you for BBC2's Grumpy Old Men? You could've made a few bob Smile
