Canada USA

Anybody skied Canada or USA?
I know the skiing will be in a different league but I wonder about the mountain eat and drink costs and the evening meals. Any experiences good or bad please share. I was thinking about Banff or Lake Tahoe in January. Winksb

Went to Killington, Vermont 2 years ago - the sking and lift infrastructure was just amazing. Very disappointed with all other aspects though. Meals on the slopes were expensive and like school dinners, not much happening in the evenings either apart from the Wobbly Barn Club.

If my holiday was all about skiing I would never go anywhere else, but it's not. Take the slopes to Bulgaria and you would have heaven on earth.

Went to Whistler a few years ago and been to Banff also. Both places are dream ticket!
Whistler is highly recommended and well worth the pennies.
Generally you get more for your money in Canada is the best way of looking at it! but still cheaper than most places in Europe once your there.

Down side for us was there was only a couple of restaurants and they were at base are of Lake Louise, or where gondola fininshed at Sunshine none were at the top of the other lifts/slopes.(note today how cold in bulgaria our temps were -12 to -17 everyday on slopes) so after travelling for 10 mins os so on a chair lift there was no where to go in for a drink. Night times was mostley based on having a meal out not really a british/bulgaria night out place. Although we did enjoy this also missed not having a BJs ot White Hart type of place. Spent a less than I thought I would
Overall had a really good holiday would go back for snow and slopes (even on busiest day had times where only us on part of the slope) but have missed BG this year too..
Just need to find a place combination of the two Exclamation Exclamation Booze

Thanks all, I have really enjoyed Bansko but just fancy a change and these take my fancy. I do put value into like minded skiers views and sometimes even listen to boarders Very Happy I guess I'm going as it is the skiing I'm after Winksb
