Chepelare

Going to Pamps on the 19th, staying in Chepelare, noticed there are a few ski runs there, have any of you ever skied them, does my Pamps lift pass cover me there and are they worth bothering with??? Thanks in advance for any info you can give me please.

re: Chepelare

go to www.chepelare.com and click on things to do and they have a webcam and info on skiing there.

I think the chairs etc., are pretty basic and old but it is supposed to be the longest ski run, either in Bg. or Europe.

Not much response to this one Sad

I thought Chepelare was the longest ski run, although probably quite basic it must be a lot cheaper, so why do people not ski there? mostly Bulgarians seem to use it.

Has anybody skied here. My son learned to ski last year, did really well although only had 2 days because of lack of snow. Would chepelare be too difficult for a beginner?
He is an adult, i.e. not a child (well sometimes he is)

thanks

Chepelare sounds great, we're going to be trying it out this year, was going to last year but the conditions where poor. Ask P.P, hes been a few times and loves it. Very Happy

re: Chepelare

Have I just been told off Confused

Chepalare is great to ski but I would advise only skiing it if you are very good or you are with someone who knows the slopes.

There are basically just 2 ways down after riding up on the double chair which is the only way up.

One way is all blacks and reds which is a brilliant run.

The other is a very long winding blue which is quite narrow in places and does have a few tricky bits for the less experienced. It is also quite easy to get lost on here ...

In short - yes if your good - no if your not.

re: Chepelare

Yes! and thank you. Perhaps they should give it a miss. May just go up on the chair lift and have a look around, somebody I know did this and said the views were amazing.

re: Chepelare

Carole,

I agree with Pete - if the snow conditions are good its brilliant - if not and if you are not so good a skier perhaps best to give it a miss.
As you say its worth the ride up just to have a look and to see the little church at the top.

Have a great time
