Clothing and Equipment?

I will be hiring Ski's and Boots, but would like to know if it would be better to buy any other clothing such as Salapets, Gloves, Googles etc in Bulgaria or before leaving the UK?Cheers

I would buy before! try Decathlon they are really cheap!

I would buy before you go,then you wont be breaking into the drinking fund when your there.For first timers, I wouldnt go spending too much on posh ski gear.
Last year Aldi were selling ski jackets and salapets very very cheap - you dont need designer kit on your first trip, and the Aldi stuff will keep you warm and dry, thats the main thing

We have used Aldi stuff ourselves and it is especially good for the children but they don't stock it all the time. It is usually on their shelves after New Year so it depends on when you are going. I got my ski jacket last year from Tchibo - more than adequate and they also sold trousers, etc. which I didn't need.

Cheers for the Advice.I will buy the salapets and stuff like that, cause knowing me if i like it i will go back a few more times. Already in love with Bulgaria so there is a good chance of that happening.
What would you all recommend as essential basic kit for first timers? Bearing in mind i will be hiring Ski's n Boots?
Don't have an ALDI near me, but i was thinking of keeping an eye out to see if LIDL's sell stuff like that, and if ALDI's do, then LIDL will too...so thanks for that.

Well, Hat, gloves(spend a bit extra on these it is worth it), good thick thermal socks. If you feel the cold then you might want to invest in thermal layers if not then long sleave T shirts as a base layer + fleece/jumper on top should be fine. Rember the key is layers you can always take of a Jumper if you get hot.Also maybe a face scarf would be good. I am sure the other guys on here will fill in the bits I missed out.

TK Maxx are also good for cheap ski stuff - or try factory outlets if you have anything near to you. We have a Regatta factory outlet in Hatfield so they do all the Dare2Be stuff cheapMitts are warmer than gloves if you do get cold hands and you could always look in M&S for the basics - try the sales immediately after Xmas for some of the stuff if you can wait that long.

Totally agree with Judith. TKMaxx are good (not yet though too early).Avoid Ski shops with high prices. You should be able to kit yourselves out quite cheaply. Asda aslo have ski wear closer to Xmas.

hiya you can also get some good/cheap new or used gear on ebay,just got a new protest board wear jacket £27 plus stuff for the skiing wife!!!!
