if you look in JJb and sports soccer they both do stuff thats good for first time, We got our first time stuff in sports soccer and washed them in waterproofing stuff for extra protection, they were warm and waterproof and only about £35 for the whole suit. They also do socks for £2 a pair which are good too. Dont buy cheap gloves tho, you need good warm ones and waterproof for when you fall!! Remember your sungl;asses or goggles, it gets very bright.
