re: DO ANY SKIERS HAVE ANYTHING GOOD TO SAY ABOUT BOARDERS OR VICE VERSA?
ooowww kiwi i dont think your spooky
peeps get grumpy on the slopes for some reason
i agree he shouldnt have poked you gf and that was out of order also as she was lower on the slopes she had right of way, he may have objected to her stopping on her board if she wasnt over to the side of the piste but, yes he was in wrong
have to agree with the FIS code though and peeps should know it and hopefully abide by it
re: DO ANY SKIERS HAVE ANYTHING GOOD TO SAY ABOUT BOARDERS OR VICE VERSA?
i think more peeps need to know it but well also alot of the ones who annoy others on the slopes DONT seem to know it
maybe it should be signposted at bottom - or top of the slopes

Unfortunatly as a begginer / intermediate I can't always plan falling over and stopping etc at the edge of the slope. And when I do I can't always get up quickly usually because I am laughing to much or just admiing the trees from a different perspective.
But the slopes in Bansko are so wide there is plenty of space for everyone and this makes it easier to avoid accidents. So you were very unfortunate to have a skier who wanted to go backwards in just the spot where your girlfriend had ...

its ok saying accidents happen and yes they do but if you follow the code they should be reduced. by the way I dont care if your a skier or a boarder i dont have a problem with either, the only thing i did find was when i was learning to ski the sound of the boarders comming always made me very scared but use to them a now and know they will either stop or go round me. the looking round before you move off is a must last time i was skiing some guy just flew on to the slope never looked in ...

(he was a skier if you want to know),
re: DO ANY SKIERS HAVE ANYTHING GOOD TO SAY ABOUT BOARDERS OR VICE VERSA?
I was going to keep this one to myself but what the hell,
I ended up skiing into a tree, just sort of popped up from no-where, I had 1 ski either side of the tree and was finding it difficult to get up and out.Next thing I was being pulled up and out of the tree and helped back onto my skis.I looked around and there was a snowboarder with a grin from ear to ear.I was so taken back that he stopped and helped me, so there is sincere boarders out there

Yes, Fiona, some of us havn't got horns........
What I'm more interested in is from people who can ski AND board. What do they reckon?
For myself I was a fairly reasonable skier when I decided to take up boarding. I know board pretty much 100%, though to be honest when I was in Bko two weeks ago I wouldn't have minded a day on skis.

I think the basic problem is not being aware of each others "needs", lines etc. Though there is obviously an "OIK" element to boarding, most of the problems I found in Bko were kamikaze Bulgarian learner skiers. You know, the ones who think they can ski fast. I was skied into three times, once by a learner in his fifties.
It takes all sorts to make a world, afterall
The other John (I was "John", but so was someone else, and when the site went "t*ts" up Sunday, I morphed).
p.s. Be honest. Most skiers just don't like the noise a board makes.
re: DO ANY SKIERS HAVE ANYTHING GOOD TO SAY ABOUT BOARDERS OR VICE VERSA?
iam honest i dont like the noice board make, my hubby can do both but prefers to ski as he can go a lot faster, as i do tend to mone about the noice and the fact boarders just plonk them selves down on the snow where ever they feel like it he thinks i should learn to board as well so i know what both is like.
