re: DRAG LIFTS ONLY??

Night life in Bansko is totally different from all the other resorts, as Bansko is a real village !!! A lot of people leave there, most of the skiers were Bulgarians until now, nothing was organised for foreign tourists with foreign standards.
Now it is changing a little bit with a lot of new or renovated hotels. But for the night life there are still few discos, and the restaurants are in a traditional style, wooden chalets with folklore musicians. The Bulgarians love this atmosphere. And ...

But for the night life there are still few discos, and the restaurants are in a traditional style, wooden chalets with folklore musicians. The Bulgarians love this atmosphere. And I can tell you that they can put more fire than in Borovets sometimes. I remember last 8th of december, it was the students celebration, everyobdy was dancing on the tables following the rythm of the drums, it was really a great moment !!

The Queue of people on the left of the webcam is the queue for the drag lift. On the right of the picture you can see the 3 man chair lift.

re: DRAG LIFTS ONLY??

There is one chair lift in Borovets (No 2 on the map) on the hotel Rila side, which takes you up to the red runs and one green (which is just a narrow path). Also on this side there was the small drag lift which you can see in the picture, which isn't numbered on the map as they call it a baby drag as it only goes up a short distance, (where the group of people are stood). Past the chair lift is one more small drag lift (baby drag) - these were the only lifts working last week on this ...

Over to the gondola side - queue up first thing for approx 1 hour. Takes you higher up the mountain. There was a small drag lift just behind the gondola (baby drag not numbered) and two further drag lifts 8 & 9 on the map. I think number 10 was open but didn't try it as this side, (to the right of the gondola) was covered in small rocks - No-one seemed to be maintaining the slopes.

If any of you are taking your own ski's or boards please be wary as you are likely to return with big chunks out of them.
