Calling all apartments owners - i'm sure there are a few out there.
Last winter we stayed in our apartment for the first time. We have 2 young daughters so took dvd's for evening entertainment.
We found we couldn't get a reception at all to the Tv (told by the developers we need to subscribe to some broadcaster???)
Anyway i digress ... Some of our DVD's didn't work - i am not sure whether they were the copy ones or originals(did i just own up to having copies???). Does anyone know ...

Can anyone help please? Would like to leave some dvd's in the apartment for family and friend that may use the apartment.

Without seeing your DVDs and DVD player it's not possible to determine which will play.
Blank DVDs come in +R and -R format. -R will play on older players. The +R format gained support later on so really old DVD players won't play +R but newer players will. Any current player should play both formats without problems.
The UK and all of Europe, east and west, have the same region code for commercial DVDs as I understand it so unless your originals are US/Asia imports they should work ...

you can get your dvd altered to except all regions plus computer downloads, you can buy them like that as well. I bought mine here in Bulgaria and everything works.
Go on the net, and search for your make of DVD player, with luck you should find the information to enable you to enter new code to make your DVD player multi region, and therefore play anything1
