Hi chubby
If you are fit enough to climb a set of stairs, you are fit enough to ski be it to a limited level. Skiing is an energetic sport and fantastic exercise (note tommy).
Go for it my friend, one note, make sure you have skiwear with a bit of room because you are going to end up in all sorts of positions. You do not want to be caught up the mountain with ripped pants/suit etc...
Im clinically obese- 32stone and 6ft tall. My doctor says that if you can run for 2 minutes without stopping you can ski no bother. Skiing therefor sounds well easy.
Chubby, Im going to Borovets on 19th with family and my husband is a bigger than the average Rugby player, we had trouble getting ski pants with room, but found the only ones that are any good was "Columbia" make go up to a 5x. hes a 46 / 48 waist and a 3x fitted him, and have loads of room for falling over. we got his from Snow & Rock £60.
I just came back from Pamporovo and had a brilliant time skiing. I'm in the region of 18 Stone and 5' 8" in hight. The instructors are extremly helpfull and don't care if you are fat or not.
What I found is that I was out of breath a lot and my body ached every day. But, this gave me the push I needed to start to do exercise and loose some of that fat. I want to be in a better shape next year so that I can enjoy it even more.
