Do you want the prices to rise?

If not, stop 'feeling sorry' for your ski instructors, bar staff etc. Don't flash your cash or leave massive tips (see post below), always take your change, always haggle when buying clothes etc.

I'm not a tight so and so, you should leave an appropriate tip for good service its not to do with that, but if we carry on like this in a few years we will be saying ' remember those 40p beers while we sup on our £5 pint in the mehanas.

Prices have already risen in the last two years, it will go the same way as Spain if we carry on like this.

Sorry I have to disagree I honestly don`t think a £10 tip is too steep. thats £2 per day, less then the price of a pint. That instructor has worked hard ensuring you were taken care of. Lets be honest we tip a porter for kindly carrying your cases. ( I`m talking this country ) Went away for a weekend and tipped that. I haven`t got a problem with that. I`m off to pamps this sunday and will take care of the people who take care of me and my family

re: Do you want the prices to rise?

Good post Banskoboy,
Have lived in Spain for the last 5 years and know what your talking about.
In Spain, the tourists would say, "Isn't 1 euro for a coffee cheap"!!!.
You think the Spanish don't understand English???.They pickup on all these type of comments and hay presto, up goes the price Exclamation
I can see the same happening in Bulgaria aswell. Very Happy

Anyone else been forced to watch the first half of a video of their ski class with the opportunity of buying a finished version at the end of the week? A lot of the instructors come in from outside the region (ours was Greek) and are in it to get some cheap skiing for the season. They may not get paid a lot, but view it in ...

If you want to tip damm all that's up to you, but let others decide what is, and is not appropriate.

Well said PP--it seems certain folks are happy to take, take, take from Bg and give as little back as they can.
