Also make sure the insurance is sufficent for your needs. Some insurances in Bulgaria can be very limited.Pete

take the tyre insurance out it covers blow outs due to pot holes.the drive is very straight forward we did before xmas we used the sat nav provided which was in bulgarian so they programmed it for us.the tyre insurance was approx 8 euro per tyrere: Driving from Sofia to Pamps
Leave the airport and turn just after the bridge when you see the sign for Svelingrad. Follow this road for about a hour.
You will pass through a tunnel (the old Bilski are at the other end so do only 80kph. After a hour you will see Macky Ds on the right and the central reservation ends for about two miles.
I think this strech of road is used for aircraft in emergencies. A little further and you will pass happy bar and grill you will be turning right a couple of miles down the road ...

Pamporovo is signposted in English so follow the signs. The road will go and go and go but bear right when you go over the level crossing. This road will take you to Assenovgrad and the gateway to the Rhodopes. Bear right at the roundabout and follow the road up the mountain to Progled, turn right and you are there.
