Got recommended a great mehana last time we were in Bansko. Easiest way to describe getting there is to follow the road down Pirin st until you reach a cross roads with traffic lights (there is a little corner supermarket here on the left), turn left and it’s on right hand side of street by ‘Boyanova kashta’ hotel. (if you miss the traffic lights and keep walking you will reach a pedestrianised area, just walk back up and turn right) From street level it’s just a doorway as it’s down in a cellar. It’s a really traditional type of restaurant with live gypsy music. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. It’s quite a big restaurant and the night we went it was packed and had a great atmosphere. Unfortunately as it is a cellar the entrance can be easily missed. Seem to remember its right next to a skiwear shop.
