Eating out in Borovets

Ok people ! The definitive guide please !
The good Razz The bad Crying and the ugly Confused
Also, was there anywhere that anyone felt they were ripped off in or anywhere that was outstanding.
I think that we can leave the Alpina to one side as it goes without saying that it is this years place to go Booze

Yes. Agree, the Alpinais a good place to drink (and cheap!!!!) but shame about the food. No taste, very bland. The lady owner was good at singing but did spend a lot of time on the computer in front of customers.

Overall thoughts. Salamanda, Expensive.
Angel Bar - If you want a very nice burger on a large toasted bun, drink and fries for 90L, go here. View up the slopes just as nice.....
Red Lion - Avoid like the plague unless you want your ears blown out by some strange lady ...

Dreadful place to avoid at all costs is White House at the top of the gondola, mafia run, rude ignorant staff, dreadful service, poor food, seriously over priced

Plenty of others but those two are both well worth a visit

Ok i'll go with ..

Sunnys Pizza lovely welcome great food..

Blue is opposite the black cat and both do very good food with the steaks in blue being fabtastic...

Lunch time i would go to the titanic bar where they do the best fresh soups i've ever had...a little on the expensive side but well worth it..

Go to samakov one night the food is fab down there and very very cheap...Ask the locals and ski instructors for places to go down there...

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Glynis - I know there are previous postings on this but was interested in the latest places. I want to support the places that are good and treat us Brits fairly while avioding those just out to rip people off.

re: Eating out in Borovets

We ate out 3 nights in January, and we liked all 3 places we ate at.

Mamacitas - the most expensive at 80 lev for 3 of us (that's about £30) but really good.

Bar Central - very good and a good price too.

Devas - at the bottom of the green run across from Ice Angels, very good as well.

Don't forget to post back where you eat and how you find the places for the benefit of us going next year!

re: Eating out in Borovets

16 of us just returned from Boro where we ate (and drank) a lot in the Golden Horn next to the ski garage on the left hand side of the piste directly outside the Rila. The girls there, Maya and Illiana are so friendly and the food is excellent and reasonable, they even arranged a birthday cake for us!!! try the chicken skewers or T-Bone steak.
