Will use the Banks or ATMs in future, looks like I may have been lucky using the booth in the Bansko Mall, thanks to all for advice. Wendy can you tell me where the Alpha bank is please??. Many thanks.

Don't worry about the drink - it's nice to help.

If you need anything else, give us a shout. The other half works in Boro during the season and I work from home down in Samokov so I'm online most of the time, so it's no hassle for me!

Anyway, looking forward to having a beer with you when you get out here - last year we met up with loads of people from the forum and had a great time - in fact 1 person even came to our wedding our here in June this year!

Alpha bank is near to the main square, come down past the big church on Pirin St into the first square, on down into the main square and turn left after the municipal building, past First Investment Bank, and Alpha is on the corner... speak to Nicoli the manager if you want to open an account, takes about 20mins, you only need your passport... great investment rates, 8.6% at the moment, bonded up to 50,000E.... internet banking, atm cards etc....

Thanks Wendy, bit of a trek as we will be staying in the Vihren Palace, but could pop down there after an early finish skiing, or would the bank by the mall alongside the gondola station car park be a good alternative?, it does also have an ATM machine on the wall. Thanks again for your kind help, hopefully will see you and steve in Jan as my son and I would like to do a trip to Borovets, will contact you nearer the time, hopefully better snow than last year!.

No problem Don, deffo get down to Alpha if you can.. though most banks will give sterling exchange at rates better than the UK...
