Exercises pre holiday

Many years ago when I was in school, the school ski trip (which i didnt attend Sad ) held warm up/exercise classes a couple of times a week for a couple of months in the run up to their ski trip so people got used to the kind of exertion they'll get when skiing.

As I didnt go to these I dont know what was done but can anyone recommend any exercises I can do to prepare for a week's snowboarding so I wont flake out on day 1??!

I'm getting some ankle weights to walk about in but is there ...

re: Exercises pre holiday

I have posted pre holiday excersises before. For those who missed it I will repeat.

Hold you right hand straight out in front.
Bend the elbow so the hand is 2 inches from the mouth.
Tilt the hand in a clockwise direction until the thumb is directly at the bottom, then tilt back.

This should be done in the evenings at least 20 times. As you tilt the hand back you should make noises like ...... ahhhhhhhh.

This should get you in fine form for what lies ahead.

HATE TO INFORM YOU ALL BUT I WORK OUT 2 HOURS A DAY EVERY DAY EXCEPT ONE SUNDAY IN 3 AND THATS COS IM COMPETING. FRANKLY I HAD SOME ACHES AND PAINS WHEN I CAME BACK, UNLESS YOUR SUPER HUMAN, A FULL WORK OUT IS IN ORDER, NO SMALL PUSSY FOOTING BENDS ARE GOING TO STOP THAT, THEY MAY STRETCH YOU MUSCLES WHICH IS A GOOD IDEA, BUT FRANKLY NOW IS TOO LATE TO ASK, YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN EXERCISING FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS TO TRAIN FOR ANYTHING, OR PUT UP WITH THE ACHES COS YOU DIDNT. re: Exercises pre holiday

Look at me. An ole fart that never excersises apart from golf. 40 fags a day, drinks like a fish, diabetic, yet I ski hard for 2 weeks solid without any pains whatsoever!!!!!

The answer is to stop when you are tired, and not go for that 'final run' where most injuries haopen.

Otherwise follow the Pamps Pete diet. Available on request.

Even if you do a bit of gym work before you go its better than nothing - I find the stepper and cross trainer help the most. Failing that, partake of lots of the fizzy stuff through the morning, day and evening and that will numb any pain you may feel throughout the week. Do however, ensure that you have booked the Monday off work on your return. That's when your body will start to react and kick against you - withdrawal of snow, chocolate brandies at 9am, 9.30am, 10am, 10.15, 10.20, 10 ...
