As an update, all contributors have been be emailed now that our further research has been completed setting out the options to them and we will follow their collective decision(s). If you have donated money to the Fund but have not received an email please send an email to [email protected] and we will rectify this asap.

Once this process is complete and we have received replies from everyone who has donated money to the Appeal Fund we will report back in conclusion at that time.

We recently posted on this and other forums informing you that we would be emailing all the people who donated to the heating fund. Amanda has also since emailed everyone setting out the details of how she intends how the money should be spent if Option 1 should be chosen. This is her prerogative but it has confused a few people, who have now replied to both emails with different options.

Please bear in mind that whatever Option is chosen the immediate and short term needs for the children at Stoikite will be provided for. We would kindly remind you to please send in your vote to by 5th November. After the funds are distributed, in whatever way you choose, Andie and myself will no longer be associated with the Stoikite Orphanage, even though these children will always be in our hearts. Unfortunately, due to many reasons , we are no longer able to work with Amanda. What started out as a very positive journey has turned into a nightmare destination. We just want to do the right thing and put this money to good use.

Please everyone who donated funds, whatever the amount, send your vote to [email protected] by 5th November.

I hope all those of you who gave your hard earned cash to this cause will also reply to this and offer your opinions. Having met and spent time with Carole and Andie I want to assure everyone that two more honest and hard-working people you will never meet.

They have donated so much time to this and to see it all end in a shambles is so unfair on them.

I know the constant requests on here for donations last year upset a few people, but that's in the past now. All any of us want now is to see the 30,000 Euros raised end up helping Bulgarian Orphans, and I for one will fully support whatever decisions Andie and Carole finally plump for.

Reminder – re Distribution of Appeal Funds:

On 22 October we emailed those of you who had donated to the Fund setting out the options. As we still have some replies outstanding we have re-sent the email today as a reminder and will extend the cut off date from Wednesday 5th November to the end of this week (say Friday, 7th November)

For those of you that have made a donation to the Appeal Fund and not received either email please let us know asap on [email protected] and will be send a copy to you immediately.

I cant help feel that this whole thing is a very sorry affair. I was worried last year that some sort of hysteria has taken over regarding the orphanage and that it would all go wrong.
You cant fault the sentiment and purpose behind the idea but it really should have been more carefully considered before launching into this scheme. I think some people advised caution last year but seemed to get shot down.
I want to know what will happen to the broken promises and dreams given to those children on the back of 'skiathong' hysteria. Theres a lesson to be learnt somewhere, sometimes rushing in from our place of comfort with promises of this and that can do more harm than good. Charity is a difficult topic and best left to professionals.

We have been unable to get back to you before now as unfortunately we were unable to reach an agreed conclusion for the distribution of the funds. We are now asking everyone to please vote again and a further email was sent out to those people who I have contact details for yesterday (22 November) in which we have now been asked to include a further option for consideration.
