Family Skiing in Bulgaria?

Hello guys,
I'm thinking of doing a skiing Holiday with my family, but I'm not sure yet where to go. Bulgaria seems to offer quite good destinations for skiing, but could anybody tell me what makes it better than other countries for skiing? Are there good slopes and ski lessons for children? The same for more experienced adults? How about accomodation, restaurants and so on? Thank you for your help.. Smile Greetings, Marina

Hi Marina,
I think BG is not better , but a good alternative for the Alp's country's. For sure cheaper and also different atmosphere. Slopes are good for children and also for advanced ski ers. ( with good snow / weather cond. ). Various accomm. available, all the bars/restaurants etc. you need. Book an "all - in " package with material, skipass , lessons. That 'll be cheaper than book local.
Don't think, go there ! Have fun,
Nico.

I took my family last year - kids aged 9, 6 and 3 and it was fantastic. The Bulgarians were so friendly and particularly so towards the kids. In all the restaurants they were very amenable and often suggested options that were not on the menu, such as little kebabs, or omelettes. The kids were welcome where ever we went and we felt were better looked after than in the other Alpine resorts that we had previously visited. I have lots of photo's of the kids dancing to the live musical ...

We didn't do ski school although the youngest was in the ski kindergarten which she did enjoy. The other two are comptetant on red and black runs so skied with us - they loved the tree skiing.
We are going back in 2009 for 10 days for new year. Kids can't wait!
Oh - if you go to Pamps - you really must take them snow-tubing. We went with Interski and it was a fantastic way to spend the evening. kids had an absolute blast!

I've been to brovets for the last 2 years, on a girls holiday. Having said that we are both mums with young kids.

1st time we went to boro we weren't happy with the advertising for strip clubs on every lamp post. I think things have got better in the last year or two, and i'm taking my husband and 2 girls in feb cos i've fallen in love with the place.

Dont think it compares with alot of other ski resorts but you get what you pay for. Its basic, restaurant food is best, and everyone ...

re: Family Skiing in Bulgaria?

Hi,

Thomsons are doing some really good deals to pamporovo this year some of the prices are as low as 289 pounds for a week half board, i really think that it is hard to beaten on price compared to the rest of europe, my heart is in pamporovo so i am biased i apologise, the ski school is great for learners and if nothing else pamps is great for the pocket
