Hi Marina,
We have been 2 Borovets for the last 2 years and going again this Jan. Last and this year staying in Hotel Ela, which has a fantastic location right next to the Gondola.
The hotel has recently been refurbished, relatively small and was very family friendly. We found the Ela more friendly than the Rila, where we stayed on our first hol.
I have to young girls and they had a blast. They have been in their own ski school both years, but this year they will prob come with us.

Boro is the only place I've ever been, so can't comment on other resorts, but this is our 3rd time so must be ok.
I recommend Ela and Boro without hesitation.
