re: First Timers

Last year we booked 2 triple rooms and 2 twin rooms and none had baths, i'm sure this is something you could request.

The pool wasn't freezing but it wasn't either. After a few minutes you were fine.

Another tip is when you are going out don't walk all the way round the Rila hotel, nip in the back of the Rila, up the stairs and come out at the front of the rila.

Stayed in the Iglika 1/2 a dozen times both with friends and family inc kids. It's a great little hotel. Get into the restaurant early at meal times. Do this and your food will be warm and you'll get the full choice before the popular items run out. All meals are buffet so pretty much eat as much as you like. At breakfast send one person to get the toast whilst others get other items as the toaster is very slow and a queue builds. Also get yourself a bread roll and fill it with ham or cheese ...
Also get yourself a bread roll and fill it with ham or cheese and take a hard boiled egg. These you can sneak out and eat later but careful where you store them as a broken egg is very smelly and if it's cold the roll can freeze (cheap lunch), they don't allow it so be careful. The pool area is boiling but the water is pretty chilly but is ok if you keep moving and get your shoulders in. The hotel bar is good value and open 24 hours (or it used to be) and they have big tv. Staff are generally friendly and some rooms have baths but you should try and book these. Use the safe deposit boxes. Drinks at meal times are paid for in cash at the end of each meal. When checking in it might be a good idea to send the party leader in first whilst the rest grab the luggage as this will get you checked in much quicker as there may be a queue.

re: First Timers

No worries happy to help but the person checking in will have to have all the passports as these have to be handed in, something I forgot to mention. Don't worry you'll get them back (when you ask) oh and the local police station is part of the building.
