Me and my girlfriend are due in March and have never been on a skiing holiday before.
I prefer to snowboard and she skis. So we decided not to go for tuition while we are in Boro. Just because we don't want to spend 4/5 hours a day doing separate things.
So we have both done beginner courses at chill factor and are going to go as regular as we can before we arrive.
Our problem is going to be knowing where to go to start with and how to use a chairlift.

Would it be possible to hire a guide for a few hours to get us started?
or do you think we will be fine just finding our way?

Head to the gondola and that will get you to the top without needing to use a chairlift. Follow it down the Musala Pathway. Once you're comfortable, get the gondola back up then head towards the chairlift on that side of the mountain. It's nice and slow during take-off and landing (the chairlift outside the front of the Rila hotel is normally a bit quick when dismounting!). Having said that, chairlifts are so much easier than draglifts. To get on, just bend your knees and let it scoop you up ...

When approaching the top, get the safety bar up in plenty of time, then just before touchdown get to the edge of the seat and then push yourself off and forward.
