Food at the Ela

Last time we stayed Feb 08, the food was not great ! Has anyone any up to date experiences, so I know if I still need to take extra money

Still not a lot different
Breakfast has a selection of cold meats, cheese, salad, breads and toast. scrambled or poached eggs, sausage, ham/bacon and tomatoes with the usual microwave to heat them up. fruit juice and coffee
Dinner is the usual selection of soups and bulgarian meals some of which we found quite good. Deserts mainly cakes or fruit. All drinks at dinner have to be purchased but we did not find them expensive. Hope this helps

re: Food at the Ela

Thanks, we stayed at the Samokov at New year this year which was better than the Ela last year, food wise. However we re-booked the Ela for Feb as we just love the cozy bar area and the atmosphere is so friendly .
I'll take a few extra quid then, just in case !!!

re: Food at the Ela

We normally stayed at the Rila but the saving on the hotel meant we could eat out every night

Thanks this was one of the reasons we started going to the Ela too !
However with the dreadful exchange rate I wondered if we could save a little by eating in a few more nights ?

dbut and S.P.Found Borovets not too exspensive both came home with change from 300 sqid.

Have a good time.

Still plenty of cheap places to eat. But if you do choose to eat in I am sure you will be able to find something to your liking. As with me and snowplough dont eat with your eyes try a bit of everything and leave what you dont like.
