Forum Format

Great wee forum but as a suggestion for improvement, i think the format should be changed to keep up with the times.

A lot of topics get repeated and when busy topics drop off the bottom too quickly, therefore resulting in the author not getting the info they are looking for most of the time.

Can it be structured that when a post is replied to that it moves to the top again, similar to most other forums?

This would result in better discussion of topics, less duplication etc and overall, more easy for the moderators to manage??

Seems like a no brainer in my opinion

PP - Have the powers that be looked into this by any chance??

re: Forum Format

This has been suggested several times now, but we are determined to keep it as it is.

With over 1,000 posts per day now the board would be going up and down all day like a Weston Super Mare Donkey.

I would suggest that this forum is probably the busiest ski forum on the internet and it's very success is justification to leave it as it is.

It ain't broken - etc. etc...........

re: Forum Format

Its not that it needs fixed PP, just modernised.

Duplication of topics really does annoy.

Can more topics be shown per page perhaps in lieu of every reply being visible at the top level?

If it has been suggested several times then perhaps its time to do some reseach into it??

Cheers

Al

re: Forum Format

As a measure, lets see how fast this "fairly important" topic fall off the bottom and is forgotten about.....

re: Forum Format

I rest my case - it will not be changing.

It may have been suggested before by various individuals, but the response last time showed that an overwhealming majority wanted it left as it was.

And that includes me.

re: Forum Format

It would be nice to update this forum a bit. As I posted some questions which two hours later where on the second then third pages. People do not go that far back.

I would agree that most modern forums do move around a bit bit after an initial period it does become more sensible.

Maybe you could have more than one Forum may help. i.e. One for Borovets, Bansko etc.. as the volume here it what causes the problems in finding information.

This is one thing that Pete and I do not agree on. I really would welcome a change on here. I find this format frustrating to say the least. A change to a more modern layout I believe would make it much easier for new user's to gather the information that they are after quickly. It is frustrating that when a post becomes busy it knocks other important questions of the page all to soon and many of these get missed.

It would also help with the repeat questions all the time. Yesterday I ...

It would also help with the repeat questions all the time. Yesterday I lost count of the amount of time somone asked Will it snow in Pamporovo etc some posted on the same page as a similar question!

Just my opinion I love the forum but like Bulgaria change is going to come.

re: Forum Format

I very much agree with Daniel this is a very busy and good forum which could be great!.

It could better encourage new people to seek out information (such as myself) without having to repeat so much of it all the time.

Leaving more time and space for that other banter that goes on!
