re: French Alps ski costs

Sounds like a pretty good deal but is it SC? If so then eating could be expensive I guess....

Also is it for a full lift pass as I they did do a limited pass which was cheaper, not sure if that is still the case though.

Yeah it's a full lift pass the original deal was £480 but had to pay £20 extra each for the espace killy pass. Was wondering if I should get a ski instructer for a day as I've only skied twice before but they don't come cheap lol

Great area to ski and the deal does not seem to bad however.... for us it would end up being the best part of £3500 by the time you factor in food and lessons for the kids (5 in the family). Bulgaria is such fantastic value in comparison - and you get people like Kas and Bobby thrown in!

Yeah its a bargain been there last 2 seasons and the local beer is pretty nice! Could also afford to eat out every night Smile went with about 15 of us last time don't think we could get that many of us again Sad if I don't enjoy France might have to book a sneaky last minute trip to borovets if the price is right Smile

Tignes is pricey, to eat and drink, especially on the mountain..
Expect to pay 6 - 9 Euro for a beer, 5 E for a coffee, 20 E for a pizza etc etc etc... The supermarket is expensive also, but obviously better value compared to restaurants and bars...
Instruction does not come cheap either, the national school generally sets the trend price wise, but you can find private schools cheaper... The area is massive, and with the `espace killy' pass will allow you to explore all the way from the ...

Instruction does not come cheap either, the national school generally sets the trend price wise, but you can find private schools cheaper... The area is massive, and with the `espace killy' pass will allow you to explore all the way from the `Aguille Percee' in Tignes, to the top of the `La Fornet' glacier in Val'd'isere (and you thought Tignes was expensive)... As with most premier resorts in France numbers are way down, so deals are appearing, unfortunately the costs of apres ski are a little slow in coming down also... Enjoy it though, great area for beginners, wide motorway slopes with an incredible lift system..
Spent 12 winter seasons in the area, many years ago (25 ish), even then a coffee in Val was 25Fr (£2.50) Mad

Who wants all that. I have 2 friends who are going to zell am see on the 21st. They have paid £2500 for the holiday then there is their spend on top of that. Myself and my partner have paid £800 for Everthing for the same week. The best thing Is you won't get the welcome and hospitalaty that you would get in Bulgaria. My friends are now kicking them selves when I showed them the snow reports. You can keep all your fancy resorts with high prices give me borovets any day

re: French Alps ski costs

I must admit Id be tempted to ski Bulgaria if thats all I could afford. The prices seem very reasonable however the hotels and some of the stories Ive heard are scary to say the least. Good luck to you thats what I say in the nicest possible way. Heading to Courchevel in less than 2 weeks time for 2 weeks so lets hope we all have plenty of snow.
