Furnishing Apartments ??

I have a one bedromm apartment in Bansko that now requires furnishing , does anyone know of anywhere local that would supply items, as i will be out there next month hopefully to furnish. I am thinking on the lines of Beds, Sofa's, Televisions etc. I would imagine that i can take Kettles, toasters and the like over from England. any help would be appreciated as i don't know where to start and the developer package didn't seem reasonable and i couldn't view the quality before buying.

We have an apartment in Bansko that has been up and running for 18 months now. Be real careful with furniture packages. We didnt like the package offered by our developers,it was a bit expensive and not too good looking.
What we did was go to a company called Orpheus. They were rubbish and actually ripped us off in the end.
In hindsight we would have stayed with the developers. Even though they cost a bit more it would have made everything simpler.

If they are renting it or taking care of it for you them they will be very awkward about taking care of the place, for example they wont be doing your laundry which doesnt match theirs. They wont go near repairing your furniture as they dont want to acknowledge it. And they wont touch electrical items that arent theirs.
Its a bit of a con to get you to stick with them for which you might pay a bit more, but in our experience overall it saves grief.

Hi Jo,Thanx for that.... Yes complete sense, although i this case we wouldn't be renting it out well only to good friends and relatives that is. It is still an option to go with th the developer though as you said this sometimes saves all the hassle, i just wasn't sure on the quality

With one ofmine I have used the developer as I thought of the reasons stated above - i.e. what if something breaks? If they are all the same (the units/studios/1 bedders etc) then they will easily replace it if however you use someone else and something breaks then its your issue to get a part to fix it... flights/time off/hassle in sorting it out = not worth the effort.
If your buying the place just for yourself & noone else will be using it then go for whatever you want. However be ...

We've got 2 places one in Bansko one in Pirin Golf District one - for the Pirin Golf thats completing this Dec I'm flying out / will be there in 2 weeks today (sipping a few beers ) and will be looking at the package offers the developer has to offer. We might want to keep this one for sole use by ourselves. Also Im very sure they kit these out with washing machines so I'd just want 2 sets of bed linnen and thats it.
As for TV/DVD will see what the package costs with those items included and then not included - but it really would be a hassle trying to take a TV out from the UK... not worth the hassle IMHO. Im not sure that the package comes with a DVD player but if not/if we can spec it without one we probably will and put in a very very basic Tesco £20 one.
If you do do it yourself then your going to have to arrange delivery & either you be there or you pay someone to be there to accept the deliveries... what a pain/costly

Yes, it does - there is no such thing as a "UK DVD player", they are all made in China or wherever, so the same system applies.re: Furnishing Apartments ??

Considered buying in BG 6/7 years ago, and decided it was not a good investment. Reading the posts on here, problems regarding furniture packages, maintenance companies etc. ....the more I feel we made the right decision
i looked into property abroad and the only option was the Canaries.
