re:Getting This Board Back To The Good Old Days

Hello PP,

I read the forum every day but don't post much. I see you made a comment about Pamporovo dying, and I don't know when you were last there but with the new runs and lifts being built in the last three years or so, I reckon it has come on greatly.

I was looking at the seven live streaming webcams for Pamporovo on another website today (which I probably shouldn't mention on hre)' and the place was jumping. I know it's the weekend just after Christmas, but if and when you ...

I was looking at the seven live streaming webcams for Pamporovo on another website today (which I probably shouldn't mention on hre)' and the place was jumping. I know it's the weekend just after Christmas, but if and when you return I am sure you will see a difference.

Anyhow, welcome back.

Hi Another Mark, thanks for the welcome back.
You've raised a couple of interesting points that I'd just like to ask you about.
We last went to Pamporovo in 2011 and I was unaware of any new runs or lifts that have opened since then.
I know a new lift is due to be opened sometime soon that takes skiers up to Snejanka but not aware of any others.
It's good to note that things have improved since 2011. Certainly the bars at Malina 2 such as the Markony and

Hi Another Mark, thanks for the welcome back.

I know a new lift is due to be opened sometime soon that takes skiers up to Snejanka but not aware of any others.
It's good to note that things have improved since 2011. Certainly the bars at Malina 2 such as the Markony and
White Dog were very quite after skiing back then as apposed to a few years earlier when they were rammed after
skiing. We also went to the old BJ's nightclub in the Perelik at about midnight and it was empty. Daks was a little busier
but still not as packed as it used to be.

The age old problems for Pamporovo is that investment has been poor and any outside assistance has been almost non
existent. The times I've been told about a gondola linking Pamp with Chepalare and that has never got off the ground.

Anyway, enough of the negative stuff because that's not why I've returned. I've loved Pamporovo for 22 years and lets
hope I can still love it 22 years from now. (Do they allow 100 year old skiers? )

Please fill me in on the new lifts and slopes if there are any.

re:Getting This Board Back To The Good Old Days

I read the title to this thread and thought "Woohoo, some information on sprucing up the snowboard in time for my next trip!" I wasn't here for the good old days....or the bad...but I have been getting plenty of good advice from this site over the last 5 yrs. Count me in. It's either that, or I spend the next four or five weeks actually working at my computer, and everyone knows that's not what they're for. Computers are for looking at snow forecasts and webcams of the slopes!

re:Getting This Board Back To The Good Old Days

Well we can't have people working when there's skiing and boarding to be preparing for. Whatever next?

And Jo M -- you are already on a yellow card now !!

People who Can't Wait should book the day before they leave. Then you don't have to wait.
People who book in advance MUST WAIT !!

Simples.
